Stpl. Steinhude is a popular location situated in the Hart-Wiesengrund area, surrounded by tall trees. It is only a few meters away from the east shore of Steinhuder Meer. However, the campsite can be quite crowded and uncomfortable during rainy days. It offers camper service and sanitary facilities, including a washing machine, although they are closed after 10 p.m.

The campsite has 164 parking spaces and 164 electricity spots. It offers gravel pitches and is reasonably priced at €15 for a 24-hour stay. Electricity is available for an extra fee of 60 cents per kilowatt-hour. Shower facilities are available for €1 for a 5-minute session. There are 2 toilets and 2 showers for women, and 1 urinal, 1 toilet, and a shower for men. The spaces are well-spaced, although some noise from the road can be heard during the day. It is generally quiet at night. It is advisable to arrive early on Fridays, as larger parking spaces measuring 7 meters or more become limited, while smaller spaces are still available in abundance.

The Steinhuder Meer is within walking distance. According to the rules, chairs can only be placed outside for meals and must be promptly removed afterwards. Currently, a negative COVID-19 test, vaccination, or proof of recovery is required for overnight stays. Access to the sanitary facilities requires a parking ticket, which can result in long queues and waiting times in the morning. The bread service is friendly, offers a good selection, and is reasonably priced. The pitches are fairly small and functional. For pitches further away, a power cable of more than 20 meters is necessary. In the morning, there may be some noise from planes, although the campground itself is generally loud due to the high number of campers and dogs.
