Caution: The road known as "Parking Ladders" is extremely narrow and has a steep descent, making it unsuitable for large motorhomes. Vans can safely navigate this route. It is a 7 km downhill stretch with limited opportunities to cross. There is a large parking lot near the power station, making it a convenient starting point for exploring the "Ladders of Death" and the via ferrata. Please note that there is no cellphone reception in this area.
Caution advised when driving down. Large parking area, suitable for overnight stay. Noise from power plant can be heard, but the sound of the river helps to mask it. Access to "ladders of death" and via ferrata. SFR provides good mobile signal (4G).
The location is beautiful, but the road to Échelles is very narrow and may not always allow for passing. Campervans are not recommended to take this route, according to the local tourist offices. The road to the dam is also very narrow.
