There is a serene camper place surrounded by lush greenery. They offer on-site dining options and it's conveniently located within a 10-minute walk to the historic old town. It's also a great starting point for cycling tours around Nordhausen or the picturesque Harz Mountains.
A comfortable and free overnight stay was enjoyable. It was quiet throughout the night, although some cars passed by starting from 7 am. There was a sign indicating the presence of toilets, and possibly even public ones. Right by the location, there were two dining options and a park for leisurely walks. Unfortunately, in the old town, the sidewalks are figuratively "rolled up" after 6 pm. We wanted to have ice cream, but at 7 pm it was not possible.
This campsite is the perfect spot for nature lovers, with a beautiful green surrounding. Although it offers a peaceful escape, it is also conveniently located near the city for quick access. The campsite provides toilet facilities and even a coffee shop at the nearby Waldschlösschen Restaurant.
