The parking lot at Königsdorfer Forst nature reserve is suitable for hiking. It is quiet, with no traffic noise. We visited from Sunday lunchtime to Monday noon and found only a few cars there. The parking lot can accommodate 40 to 50 vehicles. A tip: there is a one-hour hike to a viewpoint that offers a great view of the cathedral in the distance.
Nice place. However, it is very crowded with cyclists, walkers, and dog walkers. It can be difficult to find peace and quiet if you don't have a large vehicle and rely on being outside. Great for sleeping and taking walks though. We returned after sunset and found the surrounding areas less inviting. Once all the vehicles were gone, it was quiet for the night.
This is a fantastic destination for a short stay! The friendly residents here enjoy conversing with fellow campers. You can also enjoy long walks with your dog, exploring exciting trails. Occasionally, police patrols pass by, but as long as you maintain cleanliness and tidiness, there should be no issues.
